Curriculum
Our Program uses Creative Curriculum. This helps our teachers create intentional and meaningful activities that promote holistic development for each child. The curriculum fosters social-emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development to enhance learning in literacy, mathematics, science and technology, social studies, and the arts. We are determined to help our children develop their milestones through play, experiential learning, and social activities while having fun.
Meet Our Certified Caregiver
Our dedicated and loving teachers are credited by OSSE and acquire the minimum credentials required for Early Childhood Educators. Their experiences and annual mandatory training equipped them to meet every child's needs.
Infant Care
We understand that leaving your baby in someone else's care is a big step. Everyone at our center, most importantly, our infant teachers will work with you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. Our passionate teachers are committed to help your infants in their prime-time developmental stages. We ensure that we have a curriculum just for them. Our infant classroom is designed to promote a safe environment for growth. They have space to move freely as they discover what their body can do.
Meals and Nutrition
Meal and nutrition is very vital in children's growth and development. Children must eat healthy to be healthy, happy, and active. We are intentional about what goes into your child's body. We provide a variety of meals to boost their energy and supply their dietary needs. We make our food on the site fresh every day. We serve breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks. We respect our families' cultural practices, and beliefs. We are very flexible in designing our menu.

Tita and her team are the best. Our daughter spent a year full-time at First Choice before starting pre-K 3. To this day, our younger daughter drops in at Tita's when we need some extra help. We have always been so happy with how the staff treats our kids: truly like one of their own. The other children and parents we've met have become friends over time, and to my knowledge they all feel the same. We live nearby, and are used to row house spaces, and though I wish there were a big yard, it is a small trade off. The kids often make it to the playground just down the street unless the weather is terrible. pretty par for the course in the city. The trade off is beyond worth it for a place I always felt comfortable leaving my kids and knowing they'd be loved and happy each day. I can't recommend it enough!

Owner
My name is Tita Gashaw-Beza. I am a childcare provider, the owner of STK in the greater Washington DC area. I have had the privilege of being a part of many amazing children and their families in the past ten years. I am excited to expand my service as Story Time Kids Childcare Center to more families in need. Together with the creative and amazing teachers. I am committed to providing your family with a loving and developmentally sound foundation for a lifetime of learning. Play is a child’s most important work, and we strive to create and maintain an environment where your child can grow and thrive while exploring the world around them.
